Behind The Words: |
| Behind all the chapters, paragraphs, sentences, and words of any book can hide a very different story that didn’t get told. This BEHIND THE WORDS window allows you to experience the author’s thoughts and even his dilemma. I will add interesting insights on a weekly basis but not in the sequence found in the book. If you have a particular question, as long as it does not give the ending away, please e-mail it to Alvin E. Hargis at: behindthewords@alvinhargis.com. |

Thoughts that went into writing “Presidential Games”:
Helen Watson, Helen Fillmore, and Helen Clayton are the same person.
Helen Watson is Helen’s maiden name
Helen Fillmore poisoned her husband, Winston, to acquire a large inherence and control of two major computer companies..
Helen Clayton poisoned the Vice-President of the United States to open doors for her to become Vice-President.
Helen Clayton poisoned her husband , William, to allow her to become President.
Helen was responsible for the development of the super computer program.
Helen worked with Scott Hamilton to develop the hidden code used to control the election results and used to elect her husband as President.
Al and Sheri Ransom are covert CIA operatives who stumble onto a computer glitch while helping an old friend, Austin Black.
More Behind the Word comments soon.

"Presidential Games-a novel" is not on anyone’s BEST SELLER list and probably never will be. One obvious reason is the lack of sales. So, what is needed to improve sales?
The way I see it, the book needs to be reviewed by well known book review organizations and then the results advertised to the book buyering marketplace. Here develops a catch-22 situation since these well known reviewers appear to only review books from “traditional” publishers. If an author using a non-traditional publisher submits a work for review, he or she will generally be turned down based solely on whom their publisher happens to be.
As a result, I know I cannot expect book reviewers such as the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, New York Times, or any other major reviewer to give "Presidential Games" a rating of any kind. I do not blame the traditional publishers for this but they do not attempt to correct the situation either. I do blame selected book stores and much of the remaining book industry including newspaper book critics, reviewers, Review organizations, etc.
Word-of-mouth recommendation is still a tried and true method but takes significant time to develop and reach that critical mass of sales volume which causes sales to skyrocket.
BEST SELLERS do come from good reviews but getting a good review from a good source is the key to success.

"Presidential Games" contains intrigue and action. Could this high-tech computer and its uses become a reality? A good read for anyone interested in a little more than light reading. Follow the plot and the characters through espionage and murder. The story keeps the reader interested, to discover who else is in the way of Helen’s plans for power. [ eMail Alvin about this topic ]

Helen Clayton controls the people and events that will make her the first female President of the United States but the supercomputer used to accomplish this may lead to ther own demise. Strange events associated with the computer system looks suspicious to one of the nation's premier covert CIA teams, Al and Sheri Ransom. Can Al and Sheri outmaneuver Helen's use of her Federal Law Enforcement Agencies with orders to shoot to kill them sight.

"Presidential Games-a novel" is a well-written, mind twisting thriller filled with action. It contains both national and international intrigue. It is a MUST READ, considering the upcoming elections, where we have so many potential female candidates for president or VP, such as Clinton, Rice, or Pelosi. Which of these three candidates does Presidential Games-a novel describe?
Betty Johnson
PS: Do not overlook B Obama as a presidential candidate with one of these three females as his running mate. If that happens, you might as well, welcome back, the Republicans in 2008.
