Alvin E. Hargis
Alvin E. Hargis, author of Presidential Games, was born in Brownsville, Texas. He graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1957, and earned his B.S. in physics from Colorado State University in 1963. After working for Lockheed-Martin in Littleton for 20 years, he took early retirement. He later retired from Honeywell Aerospace Systems in Colorado Springs, where he spent several years working with the Air Force Satellite Control Network. This provided him with the opportunity to travel around the world with some extended stays in such locations as England, Greenland, Hawaii, Guam, Diego Garcia, and others.
During his career, he acquired five years of experience in law enforcement and was self-employed in high-tech security and surveillance systems. Until recently, writing novels was only a dream, but with retirement comes extra time. He expects this extra time to be spent wisely: completing the sequel to Presidential Games, which is titled The Weapons Broker.
His writing philosophy is based on his fundamentalist beliefs with ripples of conservative overtones throughout. He and his wife, Ronna, have successfully taught this philosophy and beliefs to their six sons and one daughter.
